We sand, clean, and let wood dry fully before applying any stain. Wet wood is the number-one cause of stain failure — it won't penetrate properly. We use penetrating oil-based stains or water-based solid stains depending on the condition of the wood.

Our process

Pressure wash & inspect
The whole exterior is washed to strip dirt, chalk, and mildew, then inspected for failing paint, rot, and gaps that need attention.

Scrape, sand & repair
Loose and peeling paint is scraped and sanded, and damaged wood or masonry is repaired so the finish has a sound surface to grip.

Caulk & prime
Every gap and joint is caulked with exterior-grade sealant, and bare spots are spot-primed to lock out moisture — the freeze-thaw enemy of Ontario paint.

Two finish coats
We apply two full coats of premium exterior paint built for our climate, carrying manufacturer warranties of up to 15 years when applied over proper prep.

Final inspection & clean-up
We do a full walkaround with you, touch up anything flagged, and leave the property spotless — no debris, no paint chips in the garden.
