Aluminum Siding Painting

Aluminum siding from the 1960s–1990s was built to last, and it has. But the paint has faded, chalked, and oxidized. Replacement is expensive and often unnecessary — a professional repaint with the right primer and paint can make aluminum siding look factory-fresh.

The key is surface prep and primer selection. Aluminum needs a bonding primer that adheres without self-etching. We use Sherwin-Williams Adhesion Primer or equivalent, then topcoat with two full coats of acrylic exterior paint.

We don't paint over chalked or dirty siding — it gets pressure-washed and cleaned first. Paint over chalk peels. Full stop.
